Why I bought this book?
I purchased this book during my search for meaning. Also because Jocko is one of the most disciplined and hard individuals you can ever listen to. Not only is he highly accredited in his military leadership background, he has taken those learnings and translated them into the world most of us live in. At the time I was just entering corporate america on a new time. I felt that I was not getting all that I could out of myself and felt we were not all that we could be as a team. Admittedly few times in my life have I been at the bottom of a social hierarchy with little to no leadership credits handed to me. So this book taught me how to lead from the bottom. Also how to talk and communicate with my leadership in front of me. How to manage the hierarchy that exists in the military but also in the corporate structure. I had listened to Jocko on numerous occasions. His words should never be slept on. That made this worth the purchase
